Mrs. Sharon Lynn Halbardier Neuhaus, (70) moved to heaven peacefully, February 4, at home in Johnson City, TN. Born on May 17, 1946 in the state of Louisiana, Sharon was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. She married Arthur Melvin Neuhaus on September 30, 1967 and resided in Texas prior to relocating to Johnson City. Sharon was baptized in Corpus Christi.
Sharon's husband of 48 years, Arthur Neuhaus, preceded her to heaven last September. Sharon is survived by her feline pet, Izzy, brother and sister in-law Rene and Brenda Halbardier of Houston, Texas, sister and brother in-law, Rochelle,“Tippy” and Patrick Kelley of Corpus Christi, Texas, a nephew Geoffrey Halbardier and nieces; Tawanda Halbardier and Sarah Kelley Palacios. Sharon was the daughter of the late Eugene and Jane Halbardier of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Sharon’s formal education includes a Bachelor of Arts from Corpus Christi State University. Sharon studied art with known greats as Dick Turner, Dee Dee Dale, Angie Brown, Linda Hammond, Polly Hammett and her mentor Carol Light. As an American licensed artist, Sharon’s artwork is recognizable at first sight with zesty, bright colors and zany characters of whimsical art. She secured over 200 copyrighted designs and licensed many designs by major national and international companies. Sharon’s artist career includes licensing her artwork for wooden puzzles, ceramic figurines, linens and other tabletop items. Poultry In Motion TM, her fanciful roosters, was sold around the world. She had many different careers through out her creative life, including Interior Design, Protocol Coordinator, Computer Trainee, Personnel Assistant, and Arts Council Coordinator.
Her hobbies included traveling, reading, playing cards, shopping, talking and drinking coffee with her friends. She was constantly gathering inspirations for new works. Sharon was a member of the Watauga Valley Art league, Tennessee Watercolor Society, and Bunco.
Sharon captured the whimsical side of life and designed every thing she touched with her colorful style. Her jovial and happy spirit was contagious and spread great joy, laughter and love as seen in her works of art and with everyone she met.
The family requests the honor of your presence for a celebration of life service scheduled for 7 pm, February 10 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 212 Sunset Drive in Johnson City with Pastor Nipper, officiating. The family is having a gathering at 5:30 to share special memories. Music will be performed by Lightnin’ Charlie and Beth. It was Sharon’s request to be cremated and no graveside services are scheduled.
